How to Pitch Brands as a Creator (Without Feeling Salesy)
Most creators hate pitching brands. It feels awkward, salesy, and desperate. But it doesn't have to be.
The key is to shift your mindset from "asking for money" to "offering value." Here's the framework we teach every creator in our incubation program.
Step 1: Know Your Numbers
Before you pitch anyone, know your metrics cold. Not just follower count. engagement rate, average views, audience demographics, best-performing content categories.
Brands don't buy followers. They buy access to specific audiences. Your job is to show them exactly who you reach and why that audience matters to them.
Step 2: Research the Brand
Never send a generic pitch. Before reaching out, understand the brand's current content strategy, their target customer, and any gaps you can fill.
The best pitches feel like they were written specifically for that brand. because they were.
Step 3: Lead with Value
Don't open your pitch with a rate card. Open with an idea. Show the brand what a collaboration could look like. Make it easy for them to say yes.
"I'd love to work together" is weak. "Here's a concept for a 3-part series that would introduce your product to my audience of 50,000 food-obsessed millennials in Hyderabad" is strong.
Step 4: Follow Up
Most deals die not because of rejection but because of silence. Follow up once after a week, once more after two weeks. Be persistent without being annoying.
